Happy MerMay!
Happy 1st MerMay!
April 2 - World Children's Book Day, H.K. Andersen (217), creator of The Little Mermaid. And MerMay will be in a month!
Hello! I have an great idea for you to possibly draw: the underwater concert in dreameroftheblue's monsterpeople universe! Just imagine: a popular touristic resort, warm sea, coral reef at diving/snorkeling site. The stage is a large, transparent diving bell, where is a main singer of the popular group. The musicians are in the same bell and outside ( in scuba gear). Speakers allow them to be heared normally underwater. But especially important are performers! They are merfolk invited from the local coastal clan. They gracefully (sometimes ballet-like) swim around singer, musicians and viewers, and sing too, by whistling and clicking, or normally (in the bell). That songs are, of course, about sea and underwater life ("Under the sea" from "The Little Mermaid", "Octopus's Garden"(Beatles), "We belong to the sea" (Aqua), etc.) I imagine the main singer as an elf. Viewers (a lot of countries and species) are at the surface (usually with snorkels), or deeper (freedivers, scuba divers, other merfolk, etc.). Some are even on ocean floor, in a smaller diving bells. Some fish were scared by that, but not all (protected area, fishing and hunting are prohibited (even for merfolk)). One of the tourists/viewers was a naga. She was allowed to swim closer to the performers (mimicking a sea snake). One of the best part of that show: the main performer, young and beautiful mermaid, enters the stage diving bell and sang a legendary "Part of your world" on all frequencies! Another fun moment: when active part of the song was "Even a sturgeon and a ray... ", there was an eagle ray floating nearby! Also there are two dolphins watching the party (friendly and well-known to both the tourists and merfolk).
